Edited by Diego Alfonso Erba and Eglaísa Micheline Pontes Cunha

February 2012, English

Copublished by the Ministry of Cities, Brazil, and the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, with support from the Caixa Econômica Federal

This illustrated booklet, Mike Adaster and the Guidelines for a Multipurpose Territorial Cadastre, presents a user-friendly representation of common situations confronted by municipal cadastre employees as they implement new land information systems to meet the needs of both the public and private sectors. It also provides a simplified interpretation of Brazil’s 2009 Guidelines for the Multipurpose Territorial Cadastre (Diretrizes para o Cadastro Territorial Multifinalitario). The booklet was produced by Brazil’s Ministry of Cities and the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, with support from the Caixa Econômica Federal, to help orient residents of more than 5,000 municipalities in cadastral management.

This text is a direct translation of the original Portuguese booklet, and is specific to the Brazilian context. A Spanish translation, developed for more general use in Spanish-speaking countries, is also available.
