Haegi Kwon

Haegi is a policy analyst at the Lincoln Institute, working with the opportunity and equity to advance economic development policies and practices that prioritize community well-being and racial equity. She is a community-engaged researcher and instructor who focuses on community development, community-based nonprofits, and immigrant communities. 

In addition to her role at the Lincoln Institute, Haegi is a lecturer at Boston University’s Metropolitan College, teaching courses on housing and community development and equity planning. Previously, she worked with organizations such as Seedco Financial (now TruFund Financial) and the National Immigration Forum, focusing on initiatives ranging from affordable housing and small business development in New York City to expanding opportunities for citizenship assistance at the workplace in cities such as San Jose and Los Angeles. Her research is based on her experiences as a practitioner and explores how immigrant-serving nonprofits may better promote equitable outcomes among constituents. Haegi obtained her PhD in urban studies and planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an MS in urban planning at Columbia University, and a BA in history from Bryn Mawr College.
