This course, offered in Spanish, aims to explore the potential uses of geotechnologies for improved management of urban land and to demonstrate how GIS and adequate geographic data can make more efficient and effective use of land management instruments. The process of urban issue identification will be discussed with a focus on the contributions geo-referencing and mapping tools can make. The class will also cover the issues with data collection, advanced analysis and modeling, and the actual application of the tools to specific cases of geographic problems and their solutions, and the analysis of actual cases of application.

Prerequisites: Students should be familiar with GIS software and geographic data.
