2018 Journalists Forum: Back to the Land

April 13, 2018 - April 14, 2018

Cambridge, MA United States

Free, offered in English

The mission of the Journalists Forum is to convene leading writers, editors, and producers to improve the public dialogue around land policy, urban affairs, the built and natural environment, and public finance. The annual event, held over the last 20 years, is a professional development and networking exercise that exposes journalists to new ideas, policy innovation, and expert sources and materials, all with the goal of helping the media to do a better job in informing the public on these issues. The two-day forum is also a unique opportunity to learn about new methods and approaches in the practice of the craft of journalism in the digital age.

The theme for the 2018 Journalists Forum is Back to the Land. We seek to show how land plays a central if subtle role in virtually all the challenges facing cities today, from infrastructure to affordable housing to municipal finance – and to explore the ways that an emotional connection to land, honed over the centuries in culture and society, is interwoven through politics and policy related to land.
